All weaved together to convey a semblance of... feeling. 

During this pandemic the world is living through now, 

a considerable number of them have been added to the overall total! 

As the numbers of would-be writers increased exponentially...! 

What else did you expect with everyone quarantining at once? 

Hey ~ even *I* thy luminous wordsmith here; 

even I finished revising a book project I had shelved indefinitely 

~ finished revising and polishing it during my five months away

whose name has become synonymous with scam! 

Corruption runs rampant in that part of the world 

-as it does in other, less spoken about, parts too- 

so why not this particularly pungent corner of the globe 

being the one chosen as earthly kingdom 

of that odious species - the publeecher! 

More power to you, honest Filipino vice-president 

(Leni Robredo) and Senator Pimentel 

who are among the few beacons of hope 

for this much-maligned nation.
